Making the Decision Between Dish Network and Direct TV |
Making the moive from cable to satellite is a very easy decision to make. There is so much more to watch with satellite and alot more options in how you watch what you watch. The quality is so much better than cable with far fiewer outages and it all comes at a lower price with satellite TV service.
Satellite service providers are not all the same though and you should be aware of their differences before you make the big decision on who you are going to sign up with as your programing provider. Some providers will lean a little more towards one type of programming or another. For instance, one programming provider might carry more news or sports programming channels while another will have a larger variety of movie channel choices.
So is not so much of one being better so to speak but rather your own personal preferences that can weigh in when making your final decision on a program carrier. One thing that you should know is that satellite is a much more technologically advanced form of television then cable is.
Satellite TV is broadcast exclusively in digital format. Digital format broadcasting has far fewer bandwidth limitations and this makes it possible for you to get alot more channels and more upgraded programming such as high definition then you can get with cable. One other thing that this newer and more high tech type of programming allows is lower prices to you.
The two top satellite TV programming providers are Direct TV and Dish Network and they have quite a few similarities and a few differences in their programming and programming packages. They both have excellent entry, or base level packages that allow you to start watching satellite TV and have lots of channels to choose from and do it for very little expense.
Both of these two programming providers highe programming packages have channels numbering in the range of some two-hundred and fifty.
They both also have additional options for you to choose from also. One area where they differ is in how they structure and price their programming packages in terms of quantity.
Direct TVs packages are big and they come at a good price but Dish Network has similar packages at a slightly lower cost to you. Dish Network also has more movie channels and more foreign programming than Direct TV. Direct TV does have the advantage of having exclusive broadcasting rights on a few sports channels though. So if your real sports fan you might want to take this into account when making your choice.
Both of these service providers will give you all the satellite TV receiving equipment you will need when you sign up with them and in fact they will provide and install a whole system at your home or business. That includes everything you will need for standard digital format or high definition. So before you join either of their families of viewers, look over carefully what they both have to offer you.
