Prospective clients can also check on other items for sale such as mp3 players, television sets and storage devices, among others, through Dell’s website. The major turnoffs are the seemingly endless lawsuits filed against Dell. Even the New York State Attorney General’s office has filed one. Complaints include ineffective customer service, alleged use of defective “refurbished” parts or computer units as replacements, failure to provide “on site” service even though such is included in the purchased service contracts and problems related to the batteries used in some of their laptops. In fact, the company is voluntarily recalling Dell-branded batteries with Sony-manufactured cells and offering free replacements.
